Little Deaths
This self-portrait was created to show what grief can look like - absence, and loss. A hole in the bed shows where someone used to be, but other details point to loss as well. The divot in the pillow shows that someone once rested their head there. The vines growing over the bed show the passage of time, as though this person is trapped in their cycle of grief. Yet, there is hope as we remember what we have lost.
